This week-long intensive sketchbook class is for anyone who likes to draw. It’s for beginners who would like to develop a daily practice and also for experienced artists who would like to get back into the habit of drawing daily. The week is filled with many different approaches, techniques and materials. It includes graphite pencil, color pencil, charcoal, chalk pastel, oil pastel, ink and watercolor. This is a supportive, inclusive, and friendly class with exercises in the form of interactive drawing games and strategies for overcoming blocks that might keep you from doing what you like to do.
It covers drawing from observation, memory and imagination. There is no homework during this week because we cover so much in class. By the end of the week you will have done many drawings and will be filled with the experiences, enthusiasm, and energy to keep going.

Learning Objectives:
  • Develop versatile drawing strategies by switching between drawing from observation, then memory, and imagination.
  • Build creative stamina and momentum through immersive studio practice.
Learning Outcomes:
  • Produce drawings that blend observation, memory, and imagination.

  • Students will create a sketchbook of inspiration to continue their drawing practice.

Who is this class for?

All levels, especially beginners or anyone who wants to get back into their creative practice
