Course Overview:
Together we will observe the ways that painters from the 20th and 21st centuries have used painting as a storytelling device. We will then take this understanding into a self-directed studio session where your voice takes precedence. Everybody has a story to tell. How will you share yours?

Faculty:
Matt Tanzi is an animator and career educator working in Portland, ME. After earning his Master of Fine Arts degree from MECA&D in 2015, he dedicated his career to creative problem solving and how artwork can be a medium for storytelling. After spending years as a freelancer, Tanzi has pivoted his career towards education and his own studio practice. His current projects include graphic novels and video game design.
Supplies: Canvas or painting paper, paint brushes, palettes, and your favorite paints.
