Ready to begin or deepen your artistic audio practice?

This four-week course will play with the concept and practice of “The Audio Sketchbook”. Using your DAW (course will be taught in Reaper), you will build a personalized session to act like the pages of a drawing sketchbook. We will explore the creative and practical components of treating audio as an art form, find joy and play in creation, and learn tools deepen your sound design, music, and storytelling skills. Over the course of the 4 weeks you will build your own version of an audio sketchbook, with templates and examples from the the instructor to work from. You will also use this working sketchbook to “doodle” with audio and play with new forms. The final deliverables will include sharing your own personal sketchbook with the class and completing a 1-5 minute “doodle” made using your sketchbook. This course is for folks both newish to audio or more established folks looking to overcome creative fear and find freedom in creative play. The course is best for folks with some knowledge of basic editing in a DAW and some sound design experience — however, all are welcome if you are ready to be challenged!  The course will be taught in Reaper and using Reaper for the course is highly encouraged. However, if you want to use another DAW you can.
