This course will educate students on how to use their digital SLR to the fullest. Features such as aperture, shutter speed, exposure control and qualities of light will be covered. Students will learn how to take strong and expressive photographs. The class will also be introduced to Photoshop to learn how the software can assist in the digital process. Cameras must be capable of manual operation (not point and shoot). Please bring the instruction manual for your camera to the class.

Thurston Howes received a MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and is known for documentary, environmental portrait, studio, corporate and advertising photography. Thurston is a socially concerned visionary. His work has been featured in many national and international fine art exhibitions as well as several feature films.
