Create a dedicated sketchbook practice with the guidance of Judy LaBasca! At the first class meeting, we’ll make a small sketchbook to fill up during the week. Students will receive weekly homework prompts to encourage the exploration of different drawing techniques and materials. We will go over strategies for working everyday and will cover graphite pencil, colored pencil, chalk pastels, oil pastels, watercolor and ink. Subject matter will include objects, landscape, and people. We will explore slow drawing and fast drawing, drawing from observation, drawing from memory and drawing from imagination. This class uses drawing exercises and games that are fun, energizing and relaxing. Suitable for all levels, especially beginners and those wishing to get back to drawing after a break, this class has a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
