This course is a continuation of the concepts and techniques covered in Beginning Drawing1 At the heart of this course is learning about the making of a “composed drawing” relating all the fundamental elements, line, space, form, rhythm, light, design, and mark-making. Learning how to see and seeing how to learn ”. Drawing the figure will be introduced for 3 weeks out of this 8 weeks course Homework will be given every week.

Requirements: Beginning Drawing 1 or a solid beginning drawing course.

Faculty:

Adeline Goldminc-Tronzo was born in Paris, France and trained in NYC at the Art Students League in the 1970s with Robert Beverly Hale, Marshall Glassier, Joseph Hirsch and Norman Lewis. For more than 35 years her work has been exhibited in both Europe and the US. Adeline also conducts painting workshops in Provence, and Paris, France. www.adelinette.com

 

Supplies: 

  • Newsprint paper ( 18" X 24" pad)
  • Small sketchbook
  • Large STRATHMORE charcoal pad ( 300 series) 18 X 24
  • 3 Sheets of large COLORED charcoal paper
  • soft charcoal ( vine or willow ) ( not compressed)
  • Alphacolor CHAR-KOLE square drawing sticks
  • One white charcoal stick and or white pastel selection of Pencils ( ie: HB, B, 2B, 4B etc. )
  • paper towels & or chamois
  • kneaded eraser
  • pencil sharpener
  • masking tape
