Course Description

Beginner and experienced painters are welcome to come and spend the day playing with gouache methods and techniques while learning. This class will teach you the basics of gouache painting through a variety of hands on approaches and demonstrations. The goal of the class is to provide a clear understanding of the gouache mediums so that you may paint at home.

Marguerite Lawler-Rohner has exhibited paintings throughout New England and New York. She holds an MFA from the City University of New York and a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design.   • A variety of watercolor brushes large to small 
  • Gouache paints cake or tube: yellow, blue, magenta, white and black
  • Water container
  • Ruler
  • #2 pencil
  • Eraser
  • Organic sponges
  • Masking tape 1"
  • 18"x24" rigid support-anything that you can tape your paper to
  • 1 sheet of each: hot press, cold press, and rough watercolor paper
  • A palette
