Course Description

This class will cover how to properly set up your DSLR for the best quality image capturing. Learn how to make correct manual exposures, how to use depth of field to your advantage, and how to make meaningful photographs with purpose and intent. The class will also cover basic workflow in photoshop, from image capture as a RAW file to final photographs using basic techniques including dodging, burning, color correction, and conversion to black and white. This workshop is designed for the beginning student.

Thurston Howes received a MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and is known for documentary, environmental portrait, studio, corporate and advertising photography.
