CPD 010-S19-1 | Open Studio For "Non-Artist" Artists

Mon-Fri 9AM-4PM 6/10-6/14 Room: 209

Maximum Enrollment: 12 LBS

Course Description

This class is geared for those who long to be visual artists but are afraid they don't have the "talent" to do so. Art is a process! Anyone can find their way artistically, and this studio aims to provide skill building projects, tips and techniques to help with that journey in a collaborative and encouraging atmosphere. We will explore drawing, painting, screenprint and paper collage - creating four distinct pieces, or a series of the same subject in different media.

TUITION: $335 + FEES: $20
CEUs: 3.5

Jennifer Emrich is a printmaker and art teacher in Portland, ME. She's travelled the world to see great art in all its forms and functions, but prefers to imbue her own prints with whimsy - often valuing repetition and process over product. Jennifer works with artists of all ages, and is especially interested in working with people who say "I'm not an artist" but secretly wish they were. Art is a practice, and anyone can learn! Join these me if you are a printmaker or painter who wants to explore new ways of seeing and doing, or if you are a person who hungers to make art but rarely gives yourself the time - all are welcome!

SUPPLIES: Supplies will be discussed during the first class.
