Students will start with raw sterling silver from casting grain or scrap and they will be shown how to melt the metal into an ingot and forge and file it into a unique seamless band. A signet ring will also be demonstrated. There will be an emphasis on understanding the properties of the metal and how it can be transformed into a beautiful piece of jewelry with a few simple tools and a bit of elbow grease.
