Course Description

Make a custom fit A-line skirt in a weekend. Starting with a commercial pattern we will make alterations to insure a great fit. Then we will cut and sew with step by step demos and instruction. Learn to install an invisible zipper, make a waistband and a perfect hem. Great for beginners to intermediate stitchers.

Betsy Scheintaub is a garment designer, fiber artist, and business owner. She owns Bobbin Studio and is co-owner of Bobolink cycling gear. She has a BFA in Fiber Arts and 10 years experience working in costumes for opera, ballet, and theater. She has designed garments for production as well as a line of handbags and accessories. Her work is influenced by traditional Japanese textiles, mid-century Scandinavian design and Soviet design from the 1930's.
