Course Description

Everyone can draw. This class is designed to teach students how to enjoy drawing and to establish or redefine a daily practice. Through freeing exercises students will experiment with various techniques and approaches to drawing. This daily practice is a great foundation for all art forms and for any level artist. Bringing the fun back to drawing, students will work on inventing new ways to draw, explore mark making and even play with a sculptural approach to drawing. Get ready to let go and reach beyond traditional drawing methods.

Kerrin Parkinson received her MFA in Illustration/Painting from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA and her BFA in Art Education with a focus in Illustration/Painting from The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. She has shown her work in solo and group shows on both the east and west coasts of the US, including representation with Agora Gallery in Soho, and is a member of The Society of Illustrators in NY. Kerrin is continuously teaching and working on large scale mural projects as well as illustration and fine art commissions. www.kerrinparkinson.com
