The basics of Adobe Illustrator, the vector-based drawing program used by artists and illustrators to create illustrations, logos, and type will be covered. Tools for producing single-page layout combining type and image, basic illustrations and logos will be introduced. No previous Illustrator experience necessary.
Bennett Morris is a multidisciplinary artist and teacher located in Portland. He has a BFA in Graphic Design, an MFA in Studio Art from MECA and has attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture's summer residency. In addition to his studies, Bennett has worked as a master printer, printing editions by a variety of contemporary artists. His own work is influenced by ideas related to the sublime, romanticism, ruins and surveillance technology.
