Course Description

This workshop is designed to reinforce the skill sets necessary to produce a body of B+W photographs. We will cover how to make the best exposure possible, new ways of looking at the purpose of the photographs, and why you are making them. We will think about different ways to approach composition and how to make photographs that have meaning, purpose, and intent. We will also explore proper darkroom techniques in producing quality B+W images. All levels welcome.

This class is specially designed for Art Educators and is offered at a discounted rate.

Thurston Howes received a MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and is known for documentary, environmental portrait, studio, corporate and advertising photography. Thurston is a socially concerned visionary. His work has been featured in many national and international fine art exhibitions as well as several feature films.
